  Reading - Words Read Correctly

Assessment Description

Curriculum Based Measurement Reading is a standardized assessment given individually to students. Students read three one minute passages out loud from their curriculum. The words read correctly from the median passage is the student's raw score. This raw score is entered on a chart, Pocket CBM, or online program such as Dibels or AIMSweb.

Administration Frequency

CBM reading can be administered as a benchmark passage four times a year or weekly to chart numerical growth progress. It is appropriate for any grade level, but used most frequently in elementary schools.
